Finance Decision Science (FDS) team’s focus is to build predictive models grounded in data and while using Machine Learning techniques to add stability and predictability to the AXP P&L. FDS team’s goal is to help the organization make fact-based and scientifically developed decisions around risk and opportunities. In order to do so, Finance Decision Scientists work closely with other teams in Finance, Business and Risk.
This position will be part of a highly accomplished team with strong intellectual curiosity. Our team is passionate about solving business problems through data and technology.
Lead a team of highly talented individuals to:
• Execute on Global Commercial Spend Model Roadmap - Launch, improve and enhance forecasting to drive insights and better align with business strategy
- Lead Global Commercial billings planning processes including R&O, Plan, and Long Range Plan
- Deliver Deep Analytics & Insights within the Global Commercial space
• Deepen partnerships with Corporate Planning, GCS LFO, IR teams to appropriately reflect business strategy in planning and forecasts, help manage P&L, share trends/ outlook with internal/external community
Experience leading decision science teams with proven understanding of card economics
•Significant hands-on experience managing/ leading projects using large amounts of data and application of sophisticated predictive analytics
•Proficiency in SQL, Hive, Python, Machine Learning Techniques
•Power BI or other visualization tools experience is strongly preferred
•BS/MS or PhD in a quantitative field
•Highly motivated leader with desire to work on ambiguous projects, with the ability to break down and execute on complex ideas
•Ability to influence people across all levels of the organization
•Fast learner who is data-driven and outcome-focused
•Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with good attention to detail
•Ability to explain complex mathematical concepts
•Ability to tackle ad-hoc business problems and lead multiple priorities and projects while adhering to deadlines
