Business Development Executive, Phone based Sales (Sydney or Melbourne based)

Job Description

This position is responsible for all aspects of prospecting of new Corporate Card clients to deliver annual targets. The BDE’s are responsible for Commercial Card Sales to local and multinational business in the middle market field segment ($10-$50M company turnover). 

The successful candidate will be one of 10 sales executives in the team responsible for pipeline management, successfully converting prospects into customers,  forecasting monthly sales declarations, generating billings and all other activities associated with achieving growth targets.

How will you make an impact in this role?

  • Effective Pipeline and activity management- including but not limited to, self-generated leads,  cold calls, follow up calls, emails etc)

  • Providing American Express expense management solutions to companies through understanding the prospects business, identifying potential opportunities, and introducing our services

  • Building strong connections and engaging with new and existing clients predominantly over the phone

  • Selling corporate solutions to clients across a variety of industries

  • Coordinating with internal teams to deliver on the promise

Minimum Qualifications

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Consultative B2B selling experience (proven track-record of meeting and exceeding sales goals in a phone sales environment) 

  • Experience in Acquisition and B2B corporate sales

  • Proven ability of hunting new business, self generation of leads and referrals

  • Demonstrated skill in networking, collaboration, and stake holder management

  • Excellent oral and written communication, relationship building experience in developing and executing successful sales strategies 

  • Ability to engage and gain commitment effectively across all communication platforms (via telephone, email, social media & face to face) 

  • This is a phone based sales role which will offer you career development, the chance to build your consultative selling skills as well as working towards realistic and achievable sales targets.

  • Commercial acumen, understanding financial statements (preferred)
