Data Analyst

Job Description

This Data Analyst position is responsible for supporting the development & maintenance of performance management capabilities for the Global Commercial Services (GCS) business across the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. This position is part of the Pricing Performance & Insights (PPI) team and reports to the PPI APAC Capabilities Manager. Key accountabilities include:

  • Creation of metric-based performance management dashboards spanning all markets and channels across the APAC region.  Expectations include:

    • Development of capabilities and dashboards based on business requirements

    • Ongoing execution of monthly performance management and dashboard generation

    • Database and data warehousing management

    • Streamlining and enhancing existing baseline programs

  • Driving regional and international initiatives such as:

    • Platform, server, code base, and / or database migration

    • Dashboard & reporting standardization

    • Cross-regional projects in partnership with PPI International and other teams

  • Partnering with key stakeholders such as:

    • Business planners & analysts

    • Global / International PPI

    • SPS technology support team

    • Business Partners such as Technologies, Product, Marketing, Risk, etc

  • Ensuring consistency, accuracy, and timeliness in all activities and compliance with American Express Information Security Standards

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • Tertiary qualification required. Computer Science background essential

  • Essential technical knowledge, skills, attributes and capabilities include:

    • Advanced Base SAS programming and EG knowledge

    • Unix knowledge and experience

    • Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills

    • Attention to detail and commitment to quality

    • Strong communication skills

  • Technical capabilities in the following areas considered a plus:

    • Excel

    • Tableau

    • Salesforce.com
