Enterprise Digital & Analytics is an innovation engine, driving enterprise-wide growth and differentiation for American Express in today’s digital world. We leverage technology, design, data, and analytics to develop the best digital products, platforms and personalization that allow us to deliver the world’s best customer experience every day. The Enterprise Data Platform team within EDA manages the American Express data platforms and empowering the enterprise to use trusted data and insights enabled through best-in-class suite of products.

The Role

We are looking for an Associate Product Manager/Analyst to join the Real-Time capabilities team within EDA, working on the Real-Time data ingestion/processing/access capabilities that exist within Cornerstone, American Express’s award-winning Big Data ecosystem. This ecosystem dives innovation and growth across the entire enterprise, through centralization of data and a robust governance and access model.

The Associate Product Manager will:

  • Be self-motivated and able to excel in a fast-paced, constantly changing Agile environment
  • Connect with users and stakeholders to determine platform needs, functionality, and features
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of an overall product roadmap
  • Attend and participate in Agile ceremonies
  • Partner with other product teams and technology teams to guide implementation
  • Define and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for products

 

Minimum Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related discipline
  • 2-4 years of product experience, especially in an Agile environment, with preference for the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Experience with SQL, Python, Spark/Scala, and/or Java
  • Understanding of Big Data principles, systems architecture, and related tools
  • Familiarity with UI/UX design, cloud technology, RESTful web services, Kafka, Solace, API design, Splunk, and ELK.
  • Excellent written and Verbal communication skills to build relationships and work with peers and leaders in business and technical forums
  • The ability to continually shift priorities, balance multiple tasks, take calculated risks, and handle change
  • A desire to learn and grow, and a sense of humor
