  • Building scalable quality software solutions by designing, writing code and unit tests through consistent development practices with a focus on continuous integration/continuous deployment, continuous monitoring and automated testing
  • Debugging software components, identifying code defects and remediating
  • Participating in code reviews
  • Build POCs to validate new concepts and new technologies.
  • Enabling the deployment, support, and monitoring of software across test, integration, and production environments
  • Identifying opportunities for adopting new technologies
  • Demonstrating increased self-reliance to achieve team goals
  • Influencing team members with creative changes and improvements by challenging status quo and demonstrating risk taking
  • Collaborating with a team of Engineers, Scrum Master and Product Owner to effectively achieve objectives
  • Mentoring and guiding junior team members to success within the team.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or other technical discipline, or equivalent work experience

  • 5+ years of software development experience with strong knowledge in Java, Rest APIs and exposure to alternate JVM languages : Kotlin, Clojure
  • Experience in using various Unit & Integration test frameworks such as Junit, Rest Assured, Spock, Cucumber, Mockito, TestNG
  • Advanced understanding of software design patterns: object-oriented, functional, reactive, scalability, availability & resilience principles.
  • Proven experience building cloud native & high performing applications leveraging latest distributed architecture patterns- Event driven microservices, distributed transactions,  CQRS, Saga, Sidecar
  • Proven understanding of cloud native principles : service discovery, circuit breakers, distributed tracing principles, observability, exponential back-offs.
  • Expertise in working on various message-oriented middleware products– Kafka, ActiveMQ and as such.
  • Expertise in developing elegant platform APIs by following industry best practices & strong API security principles.
  • Proven experience of developing applications using SQL databases: Oracle or PostgreSQL and at least one of the NoSQL databases: Mongo DB, Couchbase, Cassandra, Elasticsearch.
  • Ability to effectively interpret technical, business objectives and challenges and be able to articulate solutions.
  • A proven hunger to learn new technologies and explore them to evaluate suitable products and solutions for the platform
  • Staying in touch with industry standards and current technologies is expected.
