This position sits within the Customer 360, Enterprise Digital Application Experience & Platforms team, which is a part of the broader Enterprise Digital and Analytics organization. 

The team is focused on enabling the best customer experience everyday through a differentiated set of products and services.  A key part to accomplishing this vision, is knowing your customers (individuals or businesses) and having a holistic understanding of that customer. Customer 360 is an AXP-wide capability that provides a global enterprise view of entities (that have or had an American Express relationship with at least one product or service globally), comprehensive insights, and linkages for consumer, merchant, and commercial. This will fundamentally reshape our ecosystem and the way we engage with our customers by leveraging Amex internal/external data assets, world-class machine learning algorithms and Big Data environment.

Responsibilities:

The position partners closely with GCS, Risk, Servicing, and technology teams on strategic (Enterprise top 50) projects focused on enabling Customer 360 adoption while enriching the quality of customer demographic data, building intelligence and insights, and supporting modernization of the platform.

We’re looking for a high caliber Product Manager who is able to work in a cross-functional team and lead various project efforts for Customer 360 use cases.

Primary responsibilities include: 

  • Lead ongoing management and support for new Banking and Business Financing Products launch globally to support various use cases and enabling Product journeys.
  • Translates product roadmap features into well-defined product requirements/user stories and acceptance test criteria. 
  • Identifying opportunities and providing input on product vision, strategy, roadmap, and features, including external benchmarking to continuously improve the product.
  • Collaborating with our decision science team on the proof of concept to deliver against our existing and new solutions
  • Interacting with users & stakeholders to identify needs, opportunities, gaps, and solve real problems
  • Partnering with use case Product Owners, and other stakeholders to ensure smoothly delivery of end to end product and capability
  • Work with extensive data sets in Big Data to uncover pattern, problem & unleash value for the Enterprise..

Minimum Qualifications

This high energy individual must have the following qualifications:

  • Relevant experience in Data Management and/or Product Development in building data capabilities;
  • A good balance of data, technical & business knowledge with a proven track record of driving digital innovation and business metrics with a customer-first mindset; 
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage, influence, and inspire partners and stakeholders across geographies to drive collaboration and alignment;
  • An established background in launching software or services in partnership with engineering teams and high degree of proficiency in prototyping, iterative development, understanding of Agile principles;
  • Proven ability to adjust quickly to shifting priorities, multiple demands, ambiguity and rapid change.
  • Strong quantitative skills with hands on experience analyzing large amounts of data to identify patterns/insights and generate actionable recommendations with measurable value;
  • Prior experience with D&B or external Bureau’s or/and prior experience in building Customer Identification or Entity Linkage platforms is a huge plus.
  • Prior experience with understanding of Risk Processes, capabilities and journeys will be a plus.
  • Experience with Programming languages (e.g. SQL, Hive) and willingness to learn new tools & programming languages and Big Data techniques is a plus.

Educational requirement: Advanced degree in business management/computer science or related field or equivalent work experience
