We are currently looking to fill a Financial Analyst position at American Express. This individual will support financial analysis and modelling on a wide range of critical business initiatives regarding our consumer businesses in Hong Kong and Taiwan. This position will be based full-time out of our Hong Kong office.

In this role, you will:

  • Assist in the month-end closing, forecasting and budgeting process including analysing and presenting monthly financial results.

  • Build a solid understanding with the investment’s opportunities in the Hong Kong and Taiwan market

  • Assist in preparations of meeting materials/presentation decks as and when required

  • Build in-depth financial analysis and actionable recommendations to support BAU consumer card business growth

  • Provide support in various projects and be able to deliver results on ad-hoc business queries

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with various stakeholders in Marketing, Central Finance, Controllership, Risk and other functions

  • Work collaboratively across markets to share insights and best practices                   

Minimum Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and proven capacity to drive tasks and resolve issues with minimal supervision

  • Quick learner, carrying out duties with drive and strong work ethic, passionate, enthusiasm, accountable and growth mindset

  • Advanced narrative and brevity presentation skills with ability to break down complex ideas into understandable and actionable messages

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to time sensitive deadlines

  • Exceptional financial modeling skills

  • Being able to contribute in a highly collaborate team environment

  • Flexibility to accommodate different time zones across international markets

Qualifications:

  • Unversity degree in Accounting/ Finance/ Economics or other appropriate discipline

  • CPA/ CFA students are welcome

  • 2+ years’ experience in FP&A, assurance or management reporting; fresh graduates with extensive internship experience will also be considered.

  • Basic analytical skills and business acumen for decision support and investment analysis, any programming language experience is highly welcome (i.e. TM1, VBA, SQL, SAS)

  • Experience in lending product/ industry is preferred but not required

  • Good verbal and written communication skill in English. Comfortable interacting with all levels of the organization. Fluency in Mandarin is an advantage
