Job Description

Global Treasury Services (GTS) is responsible for delivering process excellence to Global Treasury, with a focus on enhancing capabilities and strengthening the control environment to meet evolving regulatory requirements.
 
The Manager , Global Treasury Services will primarily be responsible for the end-to-end Asset /Liability Management (ALM) reporting process, collaborating with teams in Treasury, Controllership, Risk and Technologies to ensure that it is executed effectively, well-controlled, and appropriately documented. The role will provide the opportunity to work directly with and present results to senior Treasury leaders and enable the incumbent to become an ALM/interest rate risk subject matter expert.
 
 
Responsibilities Include:

• Performing monthly calculations of AXP Asset Liability Management (ALM) exposures and FX and interest rate risk metrics, e.g., Earnings at Risk (EaR) , Economic Value of Equity (EVE) at Risk.
 
• Facilitating meetings for the Market Risk Management Committee (MRMC) and serving as Committee Secretary.
 
• Preparing presentations and reports summarizing ALM metrics for various governance committees ( e.g., MRMC, ALCO, ERMC) and senior leadership in Treasury and broader Finance and Risk organizations.
 
• Performing model backtesting and sensitivity analyses and communicating results to key stakeholders.
 
• Improving ALM and other exposure management processes to ensure they are effective, well-controlled, and clearly documented.
 
• Acting as point of contact and subject matter expert for Asset-Liability Management and interest rate risk issues, liaising with internal oversight groups (IAG, Model Validation, Market Risk Oversight) and external regulators (Fed, FDIC, OCC).
 
• Working with Finance Operational Risk to enhance ALM process controls and to perform and document tests of key controls for the ALM PRSA.
 
• Maintaining and enhancing Standard Operating Procedures and other documentation related to Asset-Liability Management.

• Enhancing controls and implementing standardization and process improvements across GTS.

• Developing process solutions to comply with new regulatory requirements.
 
 

Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience in Finance/Treasury.
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to synthesize complex activities and solve problems. 
  • Experience with ALM systems or Risk management databases, and/or willingness to learn.
  • SQL / SAS / IDN skills a plus.
  • Experience in control and process management – design, implementation and day to day execution.
  • Strong relationship skills - ability to liaise with multiple business partners and colleagues to challenge the status quo, influence appropriately and partner on developing solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to present findings clearly to senior leaders.
  • Project and process management skills with the ability to meet critical deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Balance sheet and financial risk management knowledge a plus.
  • Ability to think strategically.
  • Highly-motivated and proactive team-player.
