American Express Travel Related Services seeks a Technical Project Manager to drive integrated teams to deliver technology solutions in support of key product initiatives by working closely with product owners, architects, engineers, and quality assurance.  Perform hands-on reviews of product backlog, designs, code, test scripts, and results to address delivery impediments or product quality issues.  Ensure deliverables across engineering teams are high quality and clearly documented.  Work within and across business units to prioritize, plan, and execute the development schedule for major product releases.  Track team velocity, financials, and other key performance indicators in relation to the plan and published progress reports.  Maintain dependency plan between planned sprints across engineering, infrastructure, and third parties.  Monitor and escalate delivery impediments, risks, issues, and changes tied to product development initiatives.  Conduct daily stand-ups and retrospectives at the end of each sprint, and ensure continuous learning.


Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, followed by 5 years of progressively responsible technical delivery and program management experience with global projects in an onshore and offshore model of migration, web-based GUI, and product development and production support teams.  Experience must include a minimum of 5 years of project management experience, including responsibility for all phases of the SDLC; project financials; resource planning; PMO reporting and communications; vendor compliance; and using project management tools, including Clarity, Open Workbench, Confluence, and SharePoint.  Experience must include a minimum of 5 years of software design, implementation, and support experience, including technical solution analysis; object-oriented application design and development across Windows, RHEL, and SUSE Linux platforms; GUI design and development using client server architecture, HTML, JavaScript, C, C++, Visual C++, Win32 API, and Windows SDK; design and development of data transformation capabilities using Middleware tools; SCM ClearCase Multisite and SVN; and resolution of escalated customer queries.  Experience must include a minimum of 2 years of end-to-end GUI, web-based, front-end, and back-end test management experience, including creating test plans; developing test scripts; performing test execution; and leveraging testing tools, including Shell and HP Quality Center.  Experience must include a minimum of 1 year of experience with Agile software development methodologies, and with credit card and merchant processing systems.
