The Manager/Senior Manager, Product Development, Global Digital Acquisition Platform is a critical member of the Digital Acquisition team in Enterprise Digital Platforms (EDP) within the broader Global Consumer Services Group (GCSG) at American Express. We are looking for an experienced and talented software product manager (a.k.a. digital product manager) to help us build our next generation of technology products & platforms.

In this role, you will run technology scrum team/s in a Prod Owner capacity to drive the vision and work closely with other product & engineering teams that are part of the Global Application Experience & Enablement team to create requirements, manage backlog and deliver on the commitment.  The goal of the platform is to enable scale and speed to market from both a software development standpoint as well as the right toolset to enable the internal marketing users to be nimble. A key part of this role will be to create and implement a culture of agility and product ownership in partnership with technology and business teams.

This is an exciting and critical role that will help drive the future roadmap of the global platform for enabling best in class application experiences.

Focus areas will include prioritization, delivery of features and products, creation of a functional and technical vision for the platform and its capabilities for the next couple of years.



  • Bring new products to life and enhance existing ones. You will be responsible for the success of the product and empowered to do so.
  • You must understand the user, customer and business goals, and collaborate with the development team and the stakeholders.
  • Manage platform backlog for acquisition platform which may include widgets, services, platforms and databases that enable digital acquisition across markets
  • Collect requirements from various prod teams, prioritize the backlog based on metrics and available tech resources and communicate the status to the stakeholders
  • Being able to drive Test & Learn strategy for the functional domain owned by this team, work with Stats team to measure the lift
  • Work across the product teams to understand their software product roadmap and translate them into well-defined requirements with acceptance criteria
  • Work closely with the technology team to develop, test and deliver the defined capabilities and rapidly iterate new solutions
  • Coordinate between multiple scrum teams working on the same common product backlog within the department
  • Champion innovation, contribute to delivery transformation as well as the usage of agile principles
  • Collaborate across the Product & Technology teams to prioritize innovation spikes to inform future roadmap
  • Have strong analytics driven mindset to set and validate goals in regular intervals
  • Define and contribute to product roadmap and strategy

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or comparable experience) in computer science, engineering or a related technical discipline is highly desired.
  • 5+ years of successful digital product management experience with at least 2 years in a Agile scrum product owner role is a plus.
  • Proven track record managing large, complex software projects with multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to engage and influence technical and non-technical teams in a global organization
  • Strong communication and technical skills with the ability to quickly grasp technical issues/concepts
  • Problem solving, organizational and analytical skills
  • Project management skills; ability to prioritize and complete tasks
  • Ability to think creatively
