American Express Global Commercial Payments (GCP) is the global leader in the Commercial Payments Solutions space and subsequently continues to be an exciting and fast growing business. To maintain success, accelerating sales and driving profitable charge volume growth are essential for the organization. The Global Data Strategy and Insights (DS&I) team, within Commercial Payments, is instrumental in ensuring achievement of these objectives.
The Project Manager position within the Global Data Strategy and Insights (DS&I) team offers the opportunity to be part of this dynamic organization. The incumbent will be responsible for planning and managing all core deliverables across the DS&I in order to support the US Middle Market Commercial Sales and Account Development organization. In addition this position will be responsible for overseeing the management and delivery of special projects across DS&I.
Key Responsibilities
  • Own the end to end project management on key deliverables 
  • Foster partnership with internal business partners/stakeholders/sponsors
  • Track project performance, report on progress and escalate to key stakeholders and management as needed
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Implement and manage change when necessary to meet project outputs
  • Evaluate and assess result of project
  • Lead process of issue identification and resolution
  • Liaising with business partners across DS&I and the broader GCP business to understand, share and implement best practices

  • A minimum of 2 years prior consulting, business strategy, and / or client facing experience
  • Prior experience with project management and/or complex proposal development
  • High ability to tailor communication to various audiences (including senior leadership)
  • Ability to influence people across the organization
  • Drive results across multiple deliverables through efficient prioritization and organization
  • Ability to build and retain strong working relationships
  • Well-versed in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • A strong sense of responsibility and ability to operate with composure and reliability in a time sensitive environment
  • Commitment to excellence
  • Data analytics skills are preferred but not essential to the role. This includes knowledge of Salesforce, SAS, Tableau, and SQL
