Job Description

The Director, Amex Insights Global B2B will be accountable for creating and deploying insights that feed the commercial agenda for the Global Commercial Payments business unit.

The Director will be accountable for insights that deliver commercial results/outcomes to support both Business Unit and Amex Insights goals. The Director will responsible for creating & delivering an insights masterplan, which links the strategic priorities for the business with the insights agenda & research plan. She/he will be responsible for innovating how we do market research/Insights at AMEX: bringing a high degree of strategic focus, and innovating with current methodologies in delivering better/cheaper/faster insights. The Director will be responsible for managing three Sr Mangers. This role is suited for insights leaders, and marketeers/strategy leaders who relish the opportunity to drive change by championing the consumer and creating strong linkage between insights and commercial decision making

Qualifications

  • Strong research discipline background and comfort with a breadth research methodologies
  • Strengths in analytics and story-telling to turn the results into actionable business insights.
  • Strong strategic thinker; ability to build sound strategies using leading practice frameworks for the full strategic development cycle; focused on meaningful business outcomes
  • High energy, creative thinker with proven leadership experience
  • This individual will be hands-on with significant capacity for driving innovation and impact both directly and through others. He/She will have a high intellect and excellent problem solving skills, coupled with strong business acumen and general pragmatism
  • Ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders (i.e. BU VP, SVP, EVP) across AMEX 
  • 10 years’ experience in consumer insight /Marketing/Strategy 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Influencing, partnering and negotiating skills with senior business, marketing executives and external partners to create and manage strong relations
