Marketing Analyst/Senior Analyst – GMS Marketing – Coverage Expansion
Position available: Immediate
18-month Contract
 
 
Global Merchant Services (GMS) Marketing is dedicated to bringing buyers and sellers together and transforming how American Express is welcomed. GMS Marketing is responsible for partnering with GMS markets to drive profitable growth, accelerate merchant acceptance and enhance the value of Amex acceptance to merchants and Card Members at scale. We focus on enhancing our relationships with millions of merchants of all shapes and sizes, and our geographic purview includes many commerce hubs across the globe including the U.S, Canada, Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.
 
This dynamic position is part of the Global Merchant Services Marketing Team and is responsible for developing marketing materials and campaigns to support acquisition and activation of small merchants through OptBlue and targeted acquisition programs. The core focus will be supporting strategy development and leading the creation of assets that convey the value of American Express acceptance to prospects and existing merchants to increase coverage and drive engagement.
 
The successful candidate will work closely with internal and external partners on initiatives to increase coverage and activation at merchants across Canada. This includes sales support of targeted acquisition strategies, maximizing opportunities through OptBlue partners and associations, as well as merchant communications to convey American Express value and increase POP placement.  Partner-facing experience, flawless execution and strong project management skills will be critical for the role.
 
 
Specific responsibilities include:
  • Create sales training and tools to support targeted acquisition strategies, associations and OptBlue partners
  • Manage merchant communications (such as direct mail, email and others) from strategic development through execution and post analysis to reinforce value proposition
  • Assist in developing strategic plan to increase POP placement, including partner training, merchant emails, flawlessly execute initiatives and measure effectiveness
  • Connect and collaborate with global GMS colleagues to share best practices
  • Partner with GMS Marketing, Merchant Acquisition and other internal partners such as Card Issuers, Public Affairs and Legal & Compliance
  • Organizational and project management ability to work with Amex processes and systems to support flawless execution

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • University Degree, or equivalent combination of education and business experience
  • Proven ability to build and leverage strong relationships, and take initiative, champion a project from conception through implementation to evaluation.
  • Strong project management skills and organizational skills (attention to detail,  handling multiple priorities, managing tight timelines and budget)
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills with a customer-centric perspective
  • Ability to operate productively and independently in a fast moving, high energy environment
