Job Description

This position leads a team that manages the data sourcing activities for the Regulatory Reporting Delivery program within the Strategic Enablement & Governance (SEG) group. The end to end data sourcing program involves identification of data requirements, identification of upstream source systems for the data, engagement with the source systems, robust data profiling, functional designing, testing, defect management and ongoing change management. The role is responsible for leading a team of professionals that bring skill sets across functional aspects of the business and deep experience with data management. The person will be responsible for managing stakeholders across the organization including multiple Technologies teams, Product Owners, Upstream System Owners, Regulatory Reporting, Program Management Office, Test Management Office, etc. The incumbent will build a strategic data sourcing program that applies key data management principles to acquisition and provisioning of data and builds a strategic data foundation for regulatory reporting.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading the data sourcing roadmap and building a strategic program for regulatory reporting, and integrating data sourcing for other finance functions into it over time
  • Leading the identification of systems of record that align with the strategic direction of the data sourcing program, and building an ongoing relationship with these systems
  • Ensuring successful delivery of key deliverables such as functional design, data scenarios and test cases
  • Working with team members in execution of regular profiling activities, and driving evaluation and research of anomalies
  • Leading the creation of test plans, test scripts, and execution of testing to analyze data and transformation issues, and driving resolution working with technology teams 
  • Leading an evolving function within an Agile setting
  • Driving the talent strategy for the team towards building the skill sets for success in a rapidly changing technological environment

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, minor in Computer Science or Computer Engineering preferred
  • 9-11 years of work experience in Banking, in the regulatory/ risk reporting, Finance or Treasury areas (including at least 5 years in Data Management, developing a large data warehouse or big data platform)
  • Deep knowledge of relational database concepts and data management concepts; advanced knowledge of SQL
  • Exposure to both traditional and modern data management technologies
  • Solid understanding of Agile methodology and delivery concepts
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and drive change to industry leading data management practices
  • Demonstrated process thinking and must be detail oriented
  • Proven collaboration/relationship skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to meet critical deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proven people leadership experience and ability to attract, engage and retain high caliber talent
  • Knowledge of Regulatory Reporting a plus
  • Personally ensures the delivery of high quality service and consistently exceeds customers’ expectations
