This is a band 30 position located in Phoenix, AZ or Salt Lake City, UT.
 
Are you passionate about privacy and data protection? The Global Privacy Program and Reporting team is hiring a Reporting Analyst to support the development and automation of privacy risk reporting and intelligence.  This position requires someone with strong data analytics experience to analyze the various privacy risk and compliance data sources and create new metrics and reporting. 
 
Privacy and data protection are key contributors to customer loyalty and the American Express brand, and this position plays a critical role in strengthening both.  The individual will be applying best-in-class analytics and data science in developing new KRIs (key risk indicators) and KPI (key performance indicators), assisting the Global Privacy Office in the monitoring and overseeing of the AXP Global Privacy Program performance.  This position requires a self-starter who is comfortable interacting across various disciplines (i.e., legal, compliance, information security, risk, technology, operational excellence, and others) to develop reporting related to Privacy Risk Oversight, Risk Appetite Framework, Control and Compliance Rating, and others.  She or He will also be responsible for supporting various activities evolving the AXP Global Privacy Program, including governance and policy management support, risk management and oversight, process development supporting privacy operations, training development, communication and awareness, and uplifting privacy capabilities and technology.
The successful candidates should also be able to offer a strategic perspective, sound business judgment, agility to quickly adapt to rapidly changing priorities, and be able to effectively work and communicate collaboratively with multiple teams located in different geographies. Candidate must have a hands-on approach to data analysis, strong intellectual curiosity, quality driven, and a proven ability to drive results.
 
Responsibilities
  • Report, identify and validate metrics, Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and / or Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure privacy compliance and effectiveness of privacy controls.
  • Develop reporting related to Privacy Risk Oversight, Risk Appetite Framework (RAF), Control and Compliance Reporting, and other BCR Monitoring activities (i.e., complaints, regulatory change management, etc.).
  • Transition complex, manual and complicated reporting concepts and systems in a straightforward, understandable, and automated reporting package.
  • Global Privacy Program (GPP) support, including policy and committee governance, stewarding the management of privacy policies, standards and other guidance documents.
  • Developing risk management and oversight activities, including risk libraries, privacy impact assessments or risk assessment questionnaire (New Product Approval, Process Risk Self-Assessment, and Third Party Lifecycle Management program, and related guidance.
  • Help with the ongoing management of privacy training and communication, and other awareness activities.

Qualifications

To be successful, you will need:
  • 1+ years of experience in privacy/data protection or 2+ years within compliance, information security, banking oversight and/or other risk management discipline preferred.
  • Strong data and analytical skills, requiring knowledge of latest technology, including Big Data, SQL, SAS (or other programming languages like Python, HTML, etc.).
  • Proven ability to apply quantitative techniques and statistical tools and translate results to business solutions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to influence across all levels.
  • Proven track record of driving results and building effective relationships with all levels of management.
  • Possess sound judgment, flexibility and nimbleness in changing courses and solving problems swiftly.
  • Strong MS Excel and PowerPoint skills, including pivots, macros and leadership level presentation quality.
  • Demonstrated ability to operationalize principles into BAU activities.
  • Ability to analyze issues and business use cases, document analysis, and execute plans to action
  • Experience working through data quality issues
  • Relevant degrees and or certifications in business or quantitative field preferred.
