Job Description

This critical position is part of the Global Commercial Services Risk team. The candidate will play a key role in managing the Lending on Charge (LOC) and Pricing Processes for the GCS Lending card base.
The position will report into the Director, Lending for GCS Risk and will closely work with various business partners in product management, marketing, compliance, technology and banking. To succeed in the role, the candidate needs to have a very good blend of analytical skills, process expertise, project management and relationship building.
Job Description:
Responsibilities of this position are primarily focused on LOC and Pricing but also require versatility to contribute on various other Lending projects if needed. The key responsibilities are:
  • Driving strategy
    • Enhance underwriting and initial lending limit assignment strategies for Lending on Charge enrollment
    • Design, develop and track tests to optimize both LOC solicitation and pricing strategies based on test learnings
    • Develop the next phase of the initial APR assignment strategy  
  • Enhance operational excellence
    • Understand the impact of various card & lending regulations on LOC and pricing practices to ensure compliance excellence
    • Conduct process deep dives and closely monitor key controls to minimize operational risks


Required Qualifications:

1) Technical Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address business needs in efficient and innovative ways
  • Ability to work with large datasets (experience with SAS or SQL is highly desirable)
  • Proven project management skills with demonstrated proficiency in managing multiple projects simultaneously
2) Communication - Clear, effective written and oral communication skills
3) Domain Knowledge - Fundamental knowledge of lending risk management, Lending on Charge and lending product pricing is plus
4) Versatility – Ability to contribute on other areas in the Lending and Underwriting if needed
5) Relationship Building - Team player mentality with a track record of building relationships and collaborating with cross-functional business partners
Education and Work Experience:
  • 2+ years of experience in credit risk management or other related areas in financial services industry
  • Undergraduate degree in Operations Research, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Econometrics, or a related field is required
  • Advanced degree (i.e. MBA or MS, PhD in related field) is preferred but not required given a suitable combination of formal education and experience
