Senior Manager/Manager-Customer Pricing Strategy
Job Description
- Analyze internal and external customer data as well as lending portfolio trends to identify customer insights and revenue opportunities
- Develop innovative pricing constructs to help the business compete in the market
- Develop and analyze price testing strategies for the customer base that aim to deepen customer engagement while maintaining product margins and ultimately driving incremental revenue
- Monitor customer touch points (e.g., call listening) and translate to insights that lead to actionable changes that benefit customer experience
- Deliver actionable insights and recommendations through compelling story-telling to senior leaders to help shape lending strategy
- Effectively influence customer treatment and pricing strategy to drive growth and build margin resilience
- Form effective linkages with business partners in different functional areas including Marketing, Risk, Finance, Legal / Compliance, Public Relations, & Servicing
- Lead strategic business initiatives as required
Qualifications
- Self-starter with a blend of strategic thought leadership, analytical capabilities, business judgment and financial acumen to identify business needs and drive towards solutions for those needs
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage large data sets to drive strategic business recommendations; experience in (or strong desire to learn) manipulating data through programming languages (e.g., SAS, SQL or R) is preferred
- Ability to manage and drive forward multiple projects simultaneously
- High quality written and oral communication skills; experience in developing thoughtful, strategic presentations for senior leadership and cross-functional partners
- Ability to build strong relationships and collaborate across different functional teams across different levels of seniority
- Understanding of credit card economics, the consumer credit card business, the overall Amex business model and CRM strategies are a plus
- Innovative thinker and creative problem-solver who excels in a high energy environment and is able and willing to challenge the status quo
- Strong will-to-win, intellectual curiosity, drive to do what it takes to meet deadlines with a “can do” attitude
- Technical advanced degree or MBA is a plus
