Job Description

American Express Global Commercial Payments (GCP) offers a suite of payment and lending products to help businesses and organizations of all sizes gain financial savings, control and efficiency. The Finance team supports the business through analysis of existing and potential acquisition and marketing strategies.
 
The Senior Analyst is a key member of the GCP Finance team, and will work closely with partners across American Express to drive spend and deepen relationships with our Commercial customers. This role is a blend of strategy, decision support, and project delivery. It presents a unique opportunity to work with cross-functional teams, support marketing efforts, and shape the way that GCP Finance adds value to business partners.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
  • Draw value-added insights from pulling large amounts of financial data that identifies trends in the portfolio which can be used to optimize Business decisions (primarily using SQL & SAS)
  • Develop and present key analyses from findings for new and existing projects and initiatives
  • Support an on-going effort to reshape how we optimize our investments and make smarter funding decisions
  • Establish frameworks for making funding decisions and highlighting the profitability of our investments pool
  • Support the development and delivery of strategies that enable customer engagement and revenue growth

Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree (Quantitative / Finance degree preferred)
  • SQL, SAS Experience is desired
  • Experience working with Amex systems (i.e. TM1) is a plus
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience
