GCSG Investment Optimization
 
The GCSG Investment Optimization team plays a critical role managing a $3B investment budget which is used to fuel top-line growth across the Global Consumer portfolio As part of the team, the candidate will focus on decision support around investment optimization and organizing a US plan to collect, prioritize and make recommendations on the best investments to fund. Recommendations needs to be backed up with strong analytics. In addition to above, the Investment team is rolling out a new platform to streamline investment management and ROI calculations - as part of the IO team, you will be play an important part of this transformation. Ability to communicate effectively will be key as the candidate will be working with multiple stakeholders across Blue Box. This is a high-visibility role with frequent exposure to senior leaders in Business and Finance organizations. As such, the ideal candidate must possess not only stellar analytical acumen, but also excellent communication skills and the ability to tailor complex messages to the appropriate audience in a very collaborative manner.
 
  Responsibilities include:
  • Manage a high performing SFA through ongoing coaching, development and motivation
  • Analyze new investment ideas and assess whether it should be funded. Make recommendations on potential trade offs using key analytics
  • Work with broader team in rolling out new IO platform
  • Support strategic business analysis across the organization aimed at providing decision support to GCSG’s leadership
  • Help facilitate the global planning process by driving alignment with the USCS and ICS I/O teams on key deliverables including presentations for senior management reviews
  • Liaison with Corporate Planning and TM1 team on I/O platform enhancements, organize user testing, and coordinate prioritization of projects
  • Partner with Corporate Planning and Analysis on month-end, investment R&O and monthly unfunded process
  • Ad-hoc projects 

Qualifications

  • Proven self-starter with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in order to meet tight deadlines
  • Solid business acumen, strategic thinking and broad vision for long-term growth of GCSG
  • Proven ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization and across business units to achieve objectives
  • Ability to make well-reasoned recommendations, both from financial and strategic points of view
  • Superb relationship skills, with ability to drive consensus in highly matrixed environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Knowledge of card economics
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of Amex systems including TM1 and IDN
  • Bachelors degree required
