At American Express, we have a passion for Cardmembers and we are constantly innovating to reinforce and deepen our relationships with them.  As Assistant Marketing Manager – Corporate Cards & Membership Rewards, you will play a critical role in driving loyalty and engagement within our existing portfolios through the development and execution of product strategy and marketing plans. 
As a member of the Product Management team in Global Commercial Services, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and maintenance of our Corporate Card products, along with their associated services, benefits and capabilities including the Membership Rewards program.  You will continually develop and hone your analytical skills through the compilation of monthly performance dashboards, analyzing data and extracting insights to inform product strategy.

Specific role responsibilities include:
Strategy & Analytics:
  • Support the development and execution of portfolio strategy including new products, benefits, experiences, and capabilities as well as product refresh efforts
  • Compile monthly reports measuring the performance of key business metrics and provide commentary on implications
  • Understand customer and competitive trends by carrying out periodic competitive and qualitative assessments, and make strategic recommendations 
  • Identify and develop innovative solutions for customer pain points, therefore planning for a smooth end-to-end customer journey
Project Management & Capability Development
  • Work effectively across broader Amex teams (Servicing, Legal, Compliance, Technologies, New Product Development, Marketing, etc.) to deliver enhanced efficiencies, processes, services and Cardmember experiences
  • Own end-to-end implementation of new capabilities, experiences, products and benefits
  • Work closely with external partners to develop and build relationships ensuring smooth operations and delivery of joint goals
  • Support day-to-day necessary activities that keep the business moving forward
  • Collaborate with internal marketing teams to develop strategies enabling acquisition and customer engagement, and measure downstream performance to inform future actions
  • Partner with internal marketing teams on developing communications and reviewing marketing materials for accuracy
  • Oversee all product messages and disclosure materials targeted to prospects and the Cardmember base


Required Qualifications:
  • University Degree (preferably Business/Marketing)
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in Marketing/Product Management
  • Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to take initiative, drive results and champion a project from conception through implementation and evaluation
  • Proven ability to analyze data sets; demonstrate critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated multi-tasking, project management, attention to detail and prioritization skills in a demanding environment
  • Ability to lead change and set priorities, with capacity to be flexible and adapt to new opportunities
  • Experience developing partnerships and managing relationships
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office, notably Excel, Word and PowerPoint
