Overview:
 
The Analyst/Senior Analyst, Lending Growth Strategy and Capabilities is a critical role in the lending team within Canada. It provides a unique opportunity to join a team that will be a fundamental driver of growth for the Canadian P&L. This team is a builder of new capabilities and business optimization for the lending organization.  
 
In this role, you will work closely across a group of partners including technologies and central lending to deliver the capabilities roadmap for Lending in Canada. You will be a valued contributor to the lending strategy, ensuring flawless alignment, project structure and delivery while creating and building capabilities and business transformation initiatives that will leave a lasting legacy within Canada.

Job Responsibilities:
 
Analytics into Strategy – Interpret internal and external data, identify opportunities and recommend business strategy.
  • Identifying current and future consumer needs
  • Understand competitor offerings and threats
  • Translate external influences (regulatory, technology, economic & consumer trends) into opportunities or threats
  • Analyze size of opportunity for revised and new products
  • Assess financials / business case for revised and new products
Project Management – Develop and implement key capabilities to support growth
  • Be a change champion
  • Understand and follow internal NPD processes End 2 End
  • Work closely, in particular with Technology teams to drive through ‘build’ and ‘implementation’ stages of projects
  • Masterful and anticipatory risk and issues management
Relationship Management – Build a common vision between business stakeholders in order to drive portfolio/business strategy
  • Influence to gain initial stakeholder buy-in
  • Manage and lead stakeholders and contributors throughout NPD and business optimization process
  • Drive support and ensure alignment during changes to scope and driving resolution
Drives Results – move with speed and create followership and vision to get the job done
  • Leads with a sense of urgency and is persistent in meeting objectives
  • Motivates others to act with timeliness and defines success

Qualifications

Required Skills:
 
Minimum 2 year experience in:
  • Selecting, reviewing, analyzing diverse data sets related to business performance (e.g. financial performance, business process optimization)
  • Interpretation of complex data in order to develop business cases
  • Proven ability to take initiative and champion a project from concept through to implementation and post implementation evaluation, including:
    • Ability to manage complex project simultaneously
    • Ability or organize other people and meet deadlines
    • Organized approach to workload
  • Strong relationship management, influencing and collaboration skills
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills, with emphasis on proposal development and presentation to internal contacts, up to senior management levels. This will include:
    • Ability to identify and track key project milestones (base-lining critical path)
    • Proactive ability to anticipate project risks and issues and ensure adequate mitigation is put in place to ensure delivery is not compromised
    • Ability to take initiative, champion a small or medium scope project from conception through to implementation and evaluation
  • Consumer financial services (Cards, Rewards) experience a plus
  • Proven analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable with ambiguity
  • Must be a “power user” of Excel, Visio, Power Point and MS Project and be comfortable with the rest of the Microsoft Office suite
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors University degree required
  • MBA or MA specializing in Marketing, Economics or Finance would be considered an asset
