The Global Consumer Premium Products and Benefits finance team provides strategic and financial analysis support for new card products, product refreshes, Membership Rewards deal negotiations, product investment and  management of our cardmember rewards and benefits across products and portfolios.  This Senior Financial Analyst role will sit within the Global Charge team and play an integral part in analyzing the multiple Charge product structures and economics to gain a deep understanding of our existing cardmember base and help decision go forward strategies. Our team supports the Global Charge organization, and relies on strong cross-functional collaboration with the product, marketing, pricing, risk, and finance teams for the Global Consumer Services business. This is a high visibility role with a focus on some of the most important initiatives in one of the largest and fastest growing segments of American Express.

As part of this responsibility, the Senior Financial Analyst will be asked to work with Finance and Business partners across all international markets. This is a great opportunity to build a diverse set of skills and learn the economics and drivers of the Global Charge portfolio. Primary responsibilities include the following:

  • Work cross-functionally to establish framework for leveraging benchmarks or data for key assumptions to influence Global Charge product launches, refreshes and initiatives 
  • Work cross-functionally to establish structure to present a consolidated point of view for the Global Charge P&L 
  • Develop and present value-added insights that help identify trends in the portfolio and model the financial outcomes of key cardmember behaviors using large account-level data sets
  • Financial modeling and analysis for Global Charge product initiatives such as product launches / refreshes, organic growth initiatives, and profitability analyses of the portfolio 

Core Competencies:

  • Strong financial analysis skills including financial modeling, reporting, and problem solving
  • Experience consolidating large amounts of financial data in the form of dashboards and/or databases
  • Strong understanding of card economics
  • Self-starter with intellectual curiosity, initiative, and strong work ethic 
  • Able to think strategically and have the relationship skills necessary to partner and drive results in a cross-functional team environment
  • Detail-oriented with a strong process mindset
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to present on a regular basis to business partners and senior management
  • Problem solver with the strong ability to navigate complex processes and technologies
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to time sensitive deadlines
  • Ability to articulate complex ideas with brevity, simplicity and impact



  • Bachelor's Degree (Quantitative / Finance degree preferred)
  • SQL, SAS, Tableau experience is desired
  • Experience working with financial software (i.e. TM1) is a plus
  • High level of proficiency in Word, Excel, Power Point
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience
