Job Description

AET Role Framework Only. Responsible for planning, directing and coordinating large strategic programs from initiation through to implementation. Leads cross-functional program teams and works with business partners to determine and interpret business requirements into technology solutions. Responsible for managing program costs, resources, change requests, risk and issues to ensure that maximum business benefit maintained as well as provision of regular program status updates. Certification requirement: Project Management Professional (PMI) or equivalent Project Management certification (eg. Certified Project Management Practitioner, International Project Management Association). Responsible for managing one or more highly complex or enterprise-wide IT program(s) consisting of multiple projects, that may span a broad range of systems and enterprise-wide components. Communicates with Delivery Directors, Portfolio Management and Business Partners with regard to program strategy, direction and changes. Facilitates potential development solutions by working with Business Partners and senior level Architects to determine technology solutions that align with business strategies and IT strategic directions. Develops the program strategy and the various enterprise-wide high-level project plans and ensures that scope and approach are fully understood by all stakeholders. Ensures that the supporting Business Case is updated throughout the course of delivery and works with the business to ensure business case objectives are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develops the various enterprise-wide, high-level project plans against program strategy and ensures scope and approach are fully understood by all stakeholders
  • Ensures integration of projects and adjusts program level scope, timing, and budgets as needed, based on objectives
  • Identifies and tracks key milestones and recommends adjustments to cross-functional team plans
  • Ensures accurate reflection of project/program budgets, forecasts and actuals within project and program management tools
  • Monitors and communicates the progress of project and program delivery and ensures timely and effective communication of the status in terms of cost, forecast, schedule and assessment of risks/issues
  • Negotiates and influences cross-functional teams to ensure appropriate resourcing levels are engaged and maintained throughout the execution of the plan
  • Pro-actively anticipates program/project risks and issues and ensures that appropriate mitigation planning is in place to avoid compromising delivery
  • Ensures effective usage of change control procedures and processes to retain control on scope, schedule and cost
  • Adds to continual process improvement or re-engineering activities
  • Communicates with key stakeholders with regard to program strategy direction and changes
 
Qualifications
  • Solid experience successfully leading cross-functional, large/complex technical projects or programs and developing inter-connected implementation release plans
  • Demonstrated Agile practitioner across linked programs and experience with both Waterfall and Agile software delivery methodologies
  • Familiar with data warehousing, data integration frameworks and middleware, a plus
  • HR domain and Oracle product suite knowledge, a plus (OBIA, ODI, OCI)
  • Proficiency with Rally and Rally OTS and custom reporting
  • Requires financial acumen in terms of representing project/program financials using internal tools as necessary
  • Experience adapting to situations in order to quickly resolve issues and/or gain alignment
  • Diplomatic communicator with the ability to effectively negotiate and influence to reach desired outcomes across all leadership levels
  • Ability to use business and technical experience to identify impacts or risks and create plans to mitigate them
  • Project Management Professional (PMI) or equivalent Project Management certification (e.g. Certified Project Management Practitioner, International Project Management Association)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred or equal business/industry work experience, with shown experience in a leadership role and project management role
