The Global Partner Network (GPN) is an organization within American Express Global Servicing Network responsible for managing outsourced third party relationships that support our Card Member and Merchant acquisition, servicing, and fulfillment activities.


Global Partner Management is searching for a Project Manager to join the Partner Integration & Planning team.   The successful candidate will be responsible for driving global projects to integrate and/or exit third party vendor relationships with the American Express Global Partner Network. 

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure that all assigned projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget; one or many depending upon individual project size and scope
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Understand, develop, articulate and document the business needs and functional requirements for projects that the individual will manage
  • Incorporate such requirements to define the project level scope, timelines, budget, resources, risks and issues
  • Plan tasks and milestones, manage deliverables to deadlines, and hold people accountable without direct authority
  • Manage external resources supporting project management activities
  • Maintain and improve upon the project management framework for GPN ensuring adherence to robust controls

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years proven working experience in project management
  • Proven ability to influence, gain support, resolve conflict, and work in a matrixed organization
  • Keen attention to detail with ability to organize and synthesize a broad set of information
  • Strong thought leadership including capacity to quickly understand critical linkages and business requirements or use cases
  • Proven ability to resolve complex problems and work through ambiguity independently
  • Strong influencing and collaboration, strategic planning, and relationship development skills
  • Ability to motivate teams rapidly from concept to execution within aggressive timeframes
  • Excellent communication skills, including experience in presenting project status to senior leaders
  • Strong proficiency with MS Project, Excel, and PowerPoint required
  • Prior experience or knowledge of American Express systems, GPN, or integration of 3rd party capabilities, preferred but not required
  • Project management or Agile certification is a plus
