Job Description

The Senior Financial Analyst role in International Rewards offers an excellent opportunity to gain a deep understanding of two key areas: the International business structure and our rewards offerings to cardmembers. This individual will gain exposure to 25+ international markets, working closely with both Finance and Business partners across the globe. They will be directly involved in decisions that affect $1B+ of rewards expense annually in areas such as airline-partner negotiations and proprietary rewards strategy, and will be expected to independently own and lead multiple projects with aggressive deadlines. Specific responsibilities will fall within three aspects: decision support, reporting of monthly and quarterly results, and forecasting of future expectations. Fulfilling these responsibilities will require interacting closely with senior leaders across Finance and business units as well as leading presentations and working sessions with key stakeholders.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Ownership of market-level rewards expense and liability modeling
  • Lead all aspects of monthly reporting for business segment, present to Business and Finance partners, and participate in related discussions
  • Support bi-annual forecasting and rolling R&O processes, taking into account market-specific / global trends, synthesizing and presenting core messages to senior leadership
  • Lead and support ad-hoc and ongoing projects, influencing rewards strategy for both new and existing products at both the market and AXP-level, and advising on partner negotiations
  • Build and leverage relationships with markets to enable efficient and collaborative decision making

Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree required (Finance/Mathematics preferred) 
  • Knowledge of Financial Planning & Analysis processes
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite (Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Demonstrate a high level of intellectual curiosity and inquisitiveness

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of work experience preferred 
  • Understanding/working knowledge of Oracle, TM1, Hyperion Essbase, and related information management systems
