There are multiple opportunities to make your mark on technology at American Express. Here’s just some of what you’ll be doing: 
  • Writing code and unit tests, working with API specs and automation
  • Identifying opportunities for adopting new technologies
  • Improving ITSM processes and efficiencies through technology
  • Developing tools that enable the Technology organization.
We are looking for a great JavaScript developer who is proficient in Java Development. Your primary focus will be on developing tools and technology for our ITSM organization, implementing them, and following well-known workflows such as Redux. You will ensure that these components and the overall application are robust, resilient, and easy to maintain. You will coordinate with the rest of the team working on different initiatives. Therefore, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and quality product is important.
  • Developing high quality features using Java/J2EE and building reusable components and back-end libraries for future use
  • Translating designs into high quality code
  • Drive Automation opportunities to reduce cycle time and enhance customer experience



  • Proficient, hands on experience coding in Java/J2EE
  • Strong proficiency and understanding of Java and its core principles and practices
  • Experience with Vert.x, GraphQL, Gradle, or HTML5
  • Experience with data structure libraries, relational and NoSQL databases, Micro services
  • 5+ years of software development experience
  • B.S. or equivalent degree in Computer Science is desired 
  • Experience with popular React.js workflows (such as Flux or Redux) is a plus
  • Experience with ServiceNow, iQuate, Python, and Blazent a plus
