Position Overview:
 
We are seeking a PMO Project Analyst to join our growing Project Management Office (PMO) team. You will be an integral part of our servicing department supporting customer interactions across various channels (Online, chat, social media, phone, etc). This dynamic role will provide governance support for multiple programs executing on the same objective, directly participate in customer-facing activities, partner across business leaders and teams to ensure alignment and clear accountability across the organization while collaborating with a peer group in advancing process maturity, including process definition, template design, and project and change management best practices. In addition, you will help support the mechanics of a maturing PMO function by partnering with Project Managers, Portfolio Managers, and senior business stakeholders to improve delivery consistency and transparency of strategic initiatives.
 
The successful candidate should have a strong interest in Project Management work and project coordination activities. They will hold strong communication and analytical skills, presentation and organizational skills, as well as be self-motivated, an innovative thinker and possess the ability to work independently.
 
Essential responsibilities include:
  • Work directly with the Manager of the Project Management Office to implement process improvement changes throughout the PMO and assist with strategic realignment to achieve PMO goals
  • Heighten the capability of the organization’s program management practice ensuring scalable structure and solutions that are aligned with the enterprise and can adapt to changes in needs and support of highly complex, customized environments
  • Understand business objectives and translate strategic intent into rigorous, repeatable operational processes and services to meet these objectives
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with business partners and geographically dispersed cross-functional project teams to gather time sensitive project data, deliver project support & tracking, and report to various stakeholders and levels of leadership to meet common goals
  • Lead, direct and support the effective implementation of process changes ensuring that appropriate change management principles are adhered to
  • Act as a PMO expert and Business Partner to the Project Managers , providing program management skills and acting as the key contact for process knowledge
  • Contribute in decision making by providing accurate project- and program- management reporting, metrics and analysis to the project team
  • Provide internal and external stakeholder communications and progress reports that effectively outline the project status, risks, issues and action plans to ensure project success
  • Support key product/project reviews utilizing PM skills, e.g. project plans, resource management (within triple constraint), issue tracking and dashboards
  • Supporting the PMO Manager in assessing and reviewing project risks and issues, and providing solutions where applicable
  • Act as meeting facilitator where appropriate; distribution of minutes to all project team members
  • Work effectively with business partners, vendors, technology, and project management staff to develop the project meeting agendas and ensure agreement/adoption of project objectives/deliverables by all affected constituencies
  • Help develop and maintain project management tools and templates.
  • Train and coach staff in the proper application of these procedures and tools as needed to mature project management in the organization
  • Drive process improvement, standards development, and new working methods for project management

  • Proven ability to identify, formalize and align resource needs across multiple departments in support of overall business objectives and client specific requirements
  • Knowledge in standard PMO frameworks and the fluency to communicate the value of a PMO
  • Must be someone who is both passionate and meticulous and who can build, within the PMO, a community of practice dedicated to changing work habits and project results through application of a standard methodology
  • Has a ‘Pro-Active’ attitude, is a self-starter and a self-motivator; willing to do what it takes to get the job done

  • Proven teamwork skills with the ability to influence, motivate, mentor and lead team resources

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with demonstrated success in creating senior level presentations

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience working in a formal PMO as a PMO Project Analyst, Project Manager, or equivalent experience while working within Waterfall, Agile, SAFe, and/or similar environments and associated methodologies
  • Experience demonstrating knowledge and understanding of business processes and the Project Management Office responsibilities
  • Familiarity with Agile (SAFe) methodology and Waterfall environment required
  • Knowledge of PM best practices, methodologies, and project governance principles
  • Proficiency with project management, collaboration, and communication tools
  • Ability to challenge upwards, lead and/or influence teams either with or without direct authority
  • Strong track record delivering results and exceeding aggressive targets
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Thought leadership, coupled with excellent collaborative skills
  • Excellent negotiation skills and ability to build strong relationships across different organizations
  • Enthusiastic, creative individual committed to delivering results within strict timeframes

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in developing and deploying business and technical solutions
  • Experience within matrix organizations and technical environments
  • Experience in financial services, call centers, or other service industry
  • Experience in evaluation, analysis, and optimization of PMO processes and tools
 
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree (Business Administration, Management, Finance, Risk or other Business related degrees) required or equivalent experience. Masters and/or Certifications (PMP, Lean, Scrum, etc.) is nice to have but not required.
