Job Description

American Express Travel Related Services seeks Staff Engineers to lead software development teams in the delivery of payment solutions within the trusted service manager space.  Plan, manage, and build-out application platforms.  Collaborate with stakeholders on business and technology teams to drive changes required to support payments platforms.  Guide system architects on design decisions and considerations.  Mentor engineer team members.  Contribute to and promote best practices across software engineering teams.


Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field, followed by 5 years of progressively responsible experience with technical design, delivery, and monitoring of applications in an environment of rapid development, innovation, and continuous improvement.  Experience must include a minimum of: 5 years of experience with delivering industry leading solutions to market; 5 years of experience with managing the technical delivery of cloud-based applications; 5 years of experience with HTML, Java, JavaScript, SOAP, Web Services, and XML; 5 years of experience with API and API enablement; 5 years of experience with enterprise planning and collaboration tools, including Rally, Confluence, and Clarity; 5 years of experience with integration technologies, including APIs, Web Services, and ETL; 5 years of experience with Oracle, Rally, RESTful services, SOA architecture, and SQL; 5 years of experience with Cloud-based technologies; and 3 years of experience using data modeling to manage requirements.
