This Product Manager is the primary product specialist for the team, collaborating with leaders and customers to craft the product vision, drive the Product Roadmap, prioritize the Engineering team’s sprint backlog, participate actively in all phases of the iteration process, and is responsible for product decisions, release planning and leading designers and engineers to deliver user experiences, operational processes and supporting technology assets.
 
A successful candidate will be a dynamic and energetic individual with strong technology and financial management background. The candidate will help implement and operationalize program priorities in order to provide executives knowledge to manage the cost, quality and value of IT services.
 
 Responsibilities:
 
 • Understands and applies new trends and competitive best practices into product roadmap and requirements.
• Communicates and builds consensus across multiple departments in creating the product roadmap.
• Collaborates with Director and peers to define and articulate a long term product strategy and roadmap with clearly defined business metrics.
 • Translates product roadmap into well-defined product backlog, requirements/user stories and acceptance test criteria.
• Prioritizes and maintains the sprint backlog consistent with the Product Roadmap and performs story elaboration with the implementation team.
 • Works closely with the technology team to develop, test and deliver the defined capabilities and rapidly iterate new solutions.
• Review and accepts completed user stories.
• Reviews/demonstrates sprint-related or general functionality with stakeholders and customers.
• Coordinates communications, escalates and facilitates resolution of risks, issues, and changes impacting the product backlog priorities.

 

Qualifications

  • Understanding of IT infrastructure domains and SW delivery processes and how those drive total cost of of an application or platform. 
  • Knowledge of IT services and Financial Management processes including forecasting, cost allocations, capital & operating expense handling, program portfolio management, and application/infrastructure support.
  • Strong background in Portfolio/Financial Management.
  • 5+ years experience in Product Management, Portfolio Management or Financial Management with proven track record in defining winning product constructs and delivering a product vision and strategy.
  • Experience with rapid and iterative software development methodologies.
  • Proven track record managing large, complex products with multiple partners.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field required; Advanced Degree preferred.

 

Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue Visa sponsorship for these positions.
