Express Company is a joint-venture building a network business that will enable American Express branded cards’ spend to be cleared and settled domestically. It is the first foreign payment network granted preparatory approval for clearing and settlement in China.
The Pricing Team is responsible for optimizing our profitability by managing price/volume trade-offs, driving pricing strategy that crosses domestic and cross border transactions, both for issuer and acquirer sides, and continually driving process excellence throughout the team.
Reporting to Network Pricing Lead, the primary responsibility of this role is to define interchange, network fee structure, and lead other pricing initiatives. With the goal of forming a competitive pricing structure to drive network participation from both issuers and acquirers, and ultimately deliver volume generation.
•Build and maintain business landscape knowledge, to provide foundational context for strategic projects
•Define and execute proper pricing position in line with network and customer value
•Define and continuously refresh overall pricing strategy based on changing factors like network capability and competitor market practice
•Inform pricing policies and identify revenue generating opportunities
•Develop, structure and drive incentive for business agreements with issuers and acquirers in partnership with our business development team

•5+ years in quantitative / strategy roles (e.g. Pricing, Finance, Risk, Consulting)
•Demonstrated ability to utilize financial data to develop business insights
•Quick learner comfortable with making informed decisions in ambiguous situations
•Able to develop content independently, often under significant time constraints
•Bachelor’s degree or above
•Fluent in Mandarin and English
•Experience in Fintech or Payment Industry is strongly preferred
