FX International Payments (FXIP) is a fast growing, cross-border payments business, providing services to meet the foreign currency and payment needs of businesses.  The business continues to grow in the UK and is now looking to optimise its customer segmentation strategy to accelerate growth and enable scalable customer management.

The business continues to grow and we are now recruiting for a Business Planner who will play a critical role in supporting the FXIP organization by contributing to the overall business planning, pricing strategy and strategic development to accelerate its growth. Reporting to the General Manager, this role will drive forward the implementation and optimization of targeting, quality and pricing strategy.


This will require a combination of commercial, business project management, analytical and honed influencing skills. The role holder will carry responsibility for enabling the FXIP team to focus on the right segments with a competitive, compliant pricing and service model in order to realise annual revenue targets and drive sustainable growth. The role will also entail significant relationship management with the group’s and GCS’s Leadership Team and other key Blue Box stakeholders. This role is ideal for someone with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and establish collaborative partnerships from across the organization.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the GM in preparing financial and strategic business reviews/presentations to senior Blue Box stakeholders

  • Assisting in the day-to-day management of business planning and operational processes for the GM’s office, including scorecards and budgeting

  • Leading the development and execution of internal communications on behalf of the GM for key events, business updates and other deliverables, including accountability for organizing Town Halls and off-site meetings

  • Building a strong network across markets and with GCP business partners including Finance, HR and Marketing

  • Optimisation of targeting strategy to ensure Marketing, Sales and Account Sales activities are aligned and achieve annual commercial targets

  • Optimisation of a competitive pricing strategy for the UK to optimise revenues, client acquisition and retention across all client segments

  • Provide strategic support business Project and programme management on a range of complex issues as required

Required skills

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter who is able to provide strategic thought leadership and lead projects with limited guidance.

  • Strategic thinker with excellent commercial skills and acumen

  • Strong delivery and project management skills

  • Experience in competitive targeting and pricing ideally gained within the FX/International Payments industry

  • Ability to work in a matrix, leveraging and influencing stakeholders to achieve results

  • A knowledge of pricing dynamics and good commercial acumen

  • Experience in segmenting, targeting and profiling customer groups

  • Strong analytical skills and demonstrated strategic thought leadership

  • Strong will to win, results oriented and change agent

  • Able to thrive in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment

  • A confident presenter and competent negotiator with strong verbal and written communication skills

Additional requirements:
  • Demonstrated relationship management skills with proven ability to influence without authority

  • Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances

  • Strong sense of integrity with ability to handle sensitive issues and maintain complete confidentiality

  • Demonstrated excellence in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel skills a must

  • University or Higher Education Qualification or equivalent experience
