The Intelligent Automation and Messaging team within Amex Digital Labs is hiring a Product Manager to lead the Program Management Office for AI and Messaging programs and capabilities, ensuring the coordination, tracking and visibility across all live implementations, in-flight development and coordination of new initiatives.

Primary responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for intake of new programs, and ensure continuous oversight on the quality of products and channels in the existing portfolio

  • Manage and communicate the Intelligent Automation & Messaging roadmap with all business and technology stakeholders, ensuring goals are met & tracked

  • Coordinate PI planning sessions & roundtables with key business stakeholders and SMEs

  • Work closely with Ops Excellence and AET compliance teams to ensure adherence to all American Express standards and development practices

  • Ensure availability of reporting and status updates across all channels and products

We are seeking an experienced Product Manager with strong communication and organizational skills, the demonstrated ability to drive and deliver business objectives, and the ability to provide clarity and direction across teams.

Key qualifications are:

  • Experience of working within a structured project management framework, and fully versed in American Express standards, Agile methodologies and new product development processes (e.g. AEMP54, COACH, SAFe)

  • High level of comfort working with Technology teams, and a strong grasp of engineering fundamentals and development terminology (e.g. APIs, SOR, Java, Python, Microservices etc.)

  • Fully versed in American Express customer servicing procedures, operations and KPIs

  • Strong relationship management skills, with the ability to build lasting relationships with stakeholders and colleagues at all levels

  • Great communicator, able to translate complex initiatives and capabilities in plain English in-person, via teleconference and written communication
