The European Consumer business provides a range of card products to 11 proprietary markets across the continent; covering proprietary centurion line products and co-brand cards.

 

The Europe Consumer Finance (LFO) team works provides a broad spectrum of financial and portfolio analysis to support product and investment decisions. The level of exposure and insights to business challenges and opportunities is high and often demanding; requiring someone who strives to collaborate, challenge and influence business partners and provide analytical and value-add recommendations that have a real impact on business decisions, long-range strategy and overall company performance.

 

The Senior Financial Analyst position will provide financial support to the Europe Consumer business, across 4 main areas:

  • P&L Management

  • Deals, partnerships and new products

  • Investment Optimization

  • Portfolio/Cardmember Analytics

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high quality and value-added data analytics to influence strategic business decisions in the consumer business within Europe.

  • Build cost benefit/NPV analyses on key initiatives, new distribution deals, and co-brand re/negotiations.

  • Support the investment process, liaise and drive engagement with the business teams to ensure alignment, develop a robust investment pipeline, and ensure integrity in the investment submissions.

  • Track and monitor investment performance, influencing trade-offs and providing recommendations on the optimal allocation of investment funding.

  • Manage and support key financial performance processes such as month-end results analysis, risks and opportunity forecasting, yearly and long range planning.

  • Adopt an Enterprise mindset and bring visibility to the Blue Box P&L across the EMEA proprietary markets.

  • Continue to transform financial processes through report automation, creating new and utilizing existing dashboards to understand trends and deliver insights.

  • Work closely with Acquisition, Marketing, Controllership, Risk, Utilities, and other central Finance teams, providing them with market specific financial and commercial insights.

Qualifications

 

Required Skills:

  • Professional Finance or Accounting qualification (or part qualification) an advantage

  • Strong analytical skills, demonstrated ability to develop business cases, financial models, and senior leader level presentations

  • Excellent relationship building capability, able to influence others without having direct authority, combined with strong communication and presentation skills

  • Good understanding of payments industry and card economics; interest and experience with ROI and NPV modelling an advantage

  • Able to work with ambiguity, solve and explain complex problems and financial results efficiently to finance and non-finance audiences at different seniority levels

  • Ability to work independently under pressure, to meet deadlines, deliver results and manage multiple tasks without compromising quality

  • Strong commercial acumen, sense of personal excellence and accountability

  • Self-motivated, intellectually curious, open-minded in taking on new challenges

  • Proficiency in MS Office with strong Excel skills; knowledge of software such as SAS, Cornerstone, and Tableau preferred.
