Analyst/Senior Analyst, Merchant Marketing (Amex Offers, Servicing)

GMS Marketing is responsible for partnering with GMS markets to drive profitable growth, accelerate coverage and enhance the value of Amex acceptance to merchants and Card Members at scale. We focus on enhancing our relationships with millions of merchants of all shapes and sizes, and our geographic purview includes many commerce hubs across the globe including the U.S, Canada, Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.
As the Analyst/Senior Analyst, Merchant Marketing, Canada, you will be responsible for leading the development and management of external partnerships for Amex Offers. Amex Offers is a state-of-the-art Offers platform which aims to deliver differentiated value to our both our Cardmembers and merchants to drive engagement and spend. In addition, the role will also lead the internal partnership with Global Merchant Servicing to provide local marketing support to the Servicing team, acting as the key GMS Marketing liaise with Servicing to update CCP’s on the key monthly activities that are touching our merchants.
This person will be an integral member of a dynamic team of marketing consultants charged with innovating, transforming and energizing value and relevancy that will drive step-change and sustainable growth for Amex. The successful candidate will bring a strong customer first mindset along with a proven ability to collaborate and drive results among a diverse stakeholder group, providing an insights-driven strategic thought leadership through marketing excellence, operating as trusted market consultants to differentiate our network and support GMS Canada to achieve its business priorities. The incumbent will be responsible to deliver key measurable business metrics such as driving Active locations in force, improving merchant satisfaction, driving merchant and cardmember engagement (unique redeemers, merchant funded offer metrics as measurement)
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Successfully develop and manage partnership programs with third party to drive a healthy offer pipeline for the Amex Offers platform. This includes evaluation of partnership opportunities, driving the partnership conversation and operationalizing the partnership model.
Partner and collaborate with Merchant Servicing to provide local marketing consultancy and support. This includes providing a curriculum to the Customer Care Professionals to ensure they are updated and trained on all local initiatives and to provide local marketing support on legal and compliance approval for new servicing enhancements such as changes to Online Merchant Account, new servicing capabilities like Click to Chat, Phone co-browse.
Qualifications & Requirements
- University Degree or equivalent combination of education and business experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in progressive development and management of marketing/communication campaigns, including testing strategies, analyzing business opportunities, recommending and implementing actions
Superior communication and influencing skills, analytical skills will be highly regarded
Project management skills – flawless campaign execution with keen attention to details
Ability to operate productively and independently in a fast moving, high energy environment and juggle many priorities at once and manage timelines.
Strong people leadership acumen.
Strong business management skills and organizational skills.
Proven ability to build and leverage strong relationships, and take initiative, champion a project from conception through implementation to evaluation.
Demonstrated experience in engaging with external customers, business partners and delivering compelling programs and results.
