Job Description

 The Finance Manager of Card Services will play a pivotal role on the specific benefit vertical providing valuable insurance services and protections to 50+ million Card Members. This Manager will focus on providing Finance support to the U.S. Card Services team, specifically the team responsible for maintaining and optimizing our core retail insurance products helping to provide an optimized product line for our Card Members. Manager must work closely with the U.S. Card Services team to understand our current insurance product offerings, insurance product economics and inform potential product enhancements.

 

This role requires very close partnership across the blue box including the U.S. product teams in across all business units, Marketing, Amex Assurance, servicing partners, and legal.

 

Primary responsibilities:

  • Lead Finance support for our Insurance Products
  • Provide Financial insights and analysis to help the U.S. Card Services team optimize the existing Retail Card Services product line to meet customer needs based on product economics, Card Member insights and competitive assessments
  • Partner closely with Amex Assurance (AAC) to operate and fulfil against our customer promise to deliver these benefits

Qualifications

  • Strong financial modeling skills
  • Excellent analytical and strong commercial acumen
  • Understanding of deal pricing and negotiations
  • Strong thought leadership and customer orientation
  • Experience and comfort in driving and leading change
  • Ability to drive results through collaboration with partners
  • Strong customer focus and keen eye on external market and competitor trends
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and being persuasive across a variety of audiences with the ability to influence business decisions at all levels
  • Knowledge of insurance and re-insurance economics, a plus
