Aggregator Partner Manager
You’ll do more than the expected. You’ll do the unexpected.
This is a European role, focused on growing acceptance and business volumes via the rapidly expanding Aggregator channel. Our Aggregator partners operate in a high growth, dynamic environment offering payment solutions across a number of channels including eCommerce, POS and In App.
The core responsibilities will be to grow Amex business volume and card acceptance by managing an existing portfolio of Aggregator Partners and signing new partners that meet the onboarding criteria.
Specific responsibilities include:
Contract negotiation- Negotiate contracts to maximize the commercial opportunities available, leading partner facing negotiations and developing the negotiation strategy to ensure the best possible outcome for AXP.
New partner acquisition - Prospecting, signing and launching new Aggregator partnerships to drive coverage and charge volume growth.
Portfolio management and growth - Establishing strong relationships with existing Aggregators, working with them to increase our overall share of business volume.
Compliance, Policy & Regulation - Work to ensure ongoing compliance with European Regulatory framework, AXP Policy and Contractual terms.
Working alongside a wide range of internal stakeholders to manage the day to day relationship with Aggregator Partners, including Risk, Pricing, Servicing, Legal, Compliance, Policy, the global Aggregator Partner team etc.
Subject Matter Expertise - become a reference point for Aggregators within Amex.

A track record of leading commercial negotiations with partners and prospects (ideally global or multinational in scope) and identifying, managing and developing partnership opportunities.
Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with a broad network of contacts across the partner’s organization (incl. C suite) built upon authenticity, credibility and their ability to deliver tangible results and positively influence relationships.
Excellent communications skills; must be comfortable working with senior leaders both within AXP and externally to influence decisions and drive change.
Comfortable working in a highly dynamic, fast paced and complex environment. Previous experience in the Payments or Merchant Acquiring industry is required.
Highly focused on achieving results and delivering against annual targets. The candidate must be able to identify and deliver quick wins to drive scorecard results and also demonstrate tenacity and focus to drive results through long cycle times with a proven record of exceeding challenging business and financial targets.
Thought leadership and problem solving skills - much of this role is rapidly changing and evolving, so it requires innovative thinking .and the ability to rapidly develop and adapt strategy as circumstances change.
Strong financial acumen - key elements include innovative commercial constructs, margin and revenue analysis.
Global enterprise thinking with the ability to demonstrate outstanding collaboration across business functions, sharing knowledge, best practices and collaborating to drive greater alignment and streamlined processes.
Payments Industry expertise – candidates should be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the European payments landscape, key players and trends and be able use this knowledge to inform decisions and adapt the approach for working with new and existing partners.
Ability to articulate the American Express value proposition.
