Job Description

American Express Company seeks Managers, Risk Management to evaluate existing and external data sources of revenue, industry, ratings using computer programing and statistical techniques to recommend model specifications and data collection methods.  Compare transaction type, profitability, and credit histories of client relationships being evaluated with those of similar client relationships in the same industries and geographic locations.  Implement quantitative structured solutions using advanced analytical techniques that enable strategic business insights for new and expanded markets.  Design, monitor and improve analytical tools and economic P&L models that drive portfolio optimization, improve P&L measurements and more accurately predict financial risk to portfolio by incorporating client credit risk and loss provision.   Drive the transformation of pricing analytics and develop standardized decision frameworks and reporting trends that help drive and grow the profitability of business to business (“B2B”) partnerships.


Position requires a Master’s degree in Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Econometrics, Operations Research, Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field, and 1 year of experience with risk analysis.  Experience must include a minimum of: 1 year of experience with risk management; 1 year of experience with financial modeling and statistical modeling techniques, including A/B testing, econometrics, regression, cluster analysis, segmentation, data and text mining; 1 year of experience with conducting financial analysis and developing financial models on operational and transactional statistics and return on investments; 1 year of experience with translating complex analyses for technical and non-technical audiences; 1 year of experience with working with technical, analytical, business, and non-technical teams; and 1 year of experience with using MS Excel for financial reporting and modeling; and 6 months of experience with driving transformational projects.
