Manager, Corporate Planning & Analysis
 
This is a Band 35 position.
 
The Finance Transformation team is part of the Planning, Investment Management, & Analysis group within Corporate Planning & Analysis (CP&A).  Our goal is to drive an enterprise-wide standardized investment framework to allow improved and more agile investment decisions.  We design and implement capabilities that leverage technology to streamline and optimize the investment management processes across the company.
 
Responsibilities:
Investment optimization is a key priority for our company, and the ability to make the best decisions depends on having the right assessment models and tools. This Investment Management role will be focused on:
  • Maintaining and enhancing our existing IO models, and developing new capabilities
  • Driving an overall reporting and data visualization strategy to provide decision-making insights to key stakeholders
  • Delivering enhancements to the existing workflow to improve the investment submission process user experience
  • Building out capabilities to actualize investment projections, leveraging Cornerstone and other company data sources
 
To meet these objectives, the incumbent will be working with across the AXP Finance organization:
  • Coordinating with the Technical team (TM1 developers), to provide them with the design documents to enable builds on the technology platform.
  • Testing newly built capabilities to ensure quality and accuracy of builds, and leading end user testing
  • Driving deployment activities, including training, roll-out communication, and change management with all stakeholders
  • Managing interdependencies with other workstreams and becoming an investment subject matter expert
  • Coordinating a broad team of cross-functional resources feeding into design solutions
Participating in governance of the investment management tools and capabilities to ensure proper maintenance and evolution with business needs

Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • 4 years or more experience in a Decision Support or FP&A function
  • Specific Planning and Investment Optimization experience a strong plus
  • Credit card, payments, or Financial Services industry experience a plus
  • Demonstrated growth mindset and transformational approach to process efficiency and effectiveness
  • Ability to think strategically and to convert strategic vision into clear actionable outcomes
  • Must be a self-starter with an ability to challenge the status quo and drive large scale change
  • Strong relationship building, management and conflict resolution skills; ability to influence and drive alignment across a diverse set of partners including senior subject matter experts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, along with strong presentation writing skills
  • Experience in supporting global teams in a complex, multi-tasking and multi-stakeholder environment, with proven ability to deal with ambiguity and tackle complex problems with limited direction from leader
  • TM1 and Cornerstone knowledge and skills a plus
