Function Description

The Enterprise Resilience program encompasses the activities and plans that ensure continuity of business operations at acceptable levels following a disruptive event. The program oversees every phase of the business continuity lifecycle, trains individuals and teams, and provides reoccurring and ad-hoc reports to senior leaders across the company. Being one of the few teams that has influence over every part of the company, the Enterprise Resilience team partners frequently with colleagues around the world, provides guidance, and issues declarations to improve resilience.

Purpose of Role

The analyst will assess the resiliency of internal business functions and third party entities, and determine if the inherent risks to the company are sufficiently mitigated.

Responsibilities

  1. Evaluate business function and third party adherence to program controls.
  2. Review continuity plans and other documents, and form authoritative opinions on their quality.
  3. Observe exercises and make objective observations.
  4. Plan and conduct exercises at all levels of complexity, from seminars through full functional exercises.
  5. Support program improvement efforts.

Past Experience

Three to six years professional experience. Must have experience with corporate business continuity programs. A demonstrated ability to write continuity plans, conduct continuity exercises, and implement program improvements and enhancements.  A demonstrated ability to integrate business priorities is highly desirable. Experience with disaster recovery programs is a plus.

Academic Background

A bachelor’s degree is highly desirable. Post-graduate education can be substituted for years of experience. Applicable certifications in information security, information technology, and business continuity are a plus, but are not required.

Functional Skills/Capabilities

Must have a demonstrated ability to perform analysis using spreadsheets and report findings. Must have a demonstrated ability to write reports and create presentations. Experience delivering presentations and facilitating meetings is a plus. Experience with risk analysis is a plus.

Technical Skills/Capabilities

Must demonstrate an understanding of the role information technology and applications have in business operations and business continuity.  Experience working in information technology is a plus.

Behavioral Skills/Capabilities

Position requires work to be mostly unsupervised. Person must be self-motivated to complete tasks and actively take initiative after receiving limited direction. A comprehensive view of how their work contributes to the overall success of a global enterprise is highly desirable.
