Job Description

This position is responsible for identifying, signing up and implementing new acquiring partnerships in IO markets. The incumbent will be responsible for market research, negotiations, sales, pricing, contracts and implementation of the new partners in the identified markets. This position will also be responsible for managing the commercial card business for GNS in South East Asia.
 
The key responsibilities for this position are:
  • Research all IO markets to identify market size, key merchant acquirers, key strengths and areas of focus of the acquirers.
  • Develop market level strategies, in line with overall company strategy to achieve 75% + market LIF coverage in the identified IO markets to ensure a good Amex customer experience.
  • Identify potential new acquiring partners in line with the above strategy in the market and sell-in to them.
  • Determine the pricing strategies in the market, including but not limited to:
    • The ‘Network Rate’ to be charged to the new acquirers
    • The ‘Issuer Rate’ to be paid to the issuers in the market
    • The Royalties to be charged 
  • Responsible for all contractual activities for the partner sign-up including but not limited to Legal and Commercial negotiations.
  • Ensure proper implementation of the partner by participating in the project and ensuring timely implementation.
  • Point person for all Commercial Card activities in the Region, including but not limited to:
    • Ensuring seamless management of GCG commercial card Global Clients by our GNS partners by creating and maintaining relationships with senior as well as working level officials in the partner commercial card team.
    • Working with GCG global RMs as required to ensure seamless service to global clients
    • Conducting regular reviews of the business with the four GNS partners with GCG client linkage
  • Responsible for the billed business targets for commercial cards in the region.

Qualifications

  • Over 10 years experience in the Card Business with strong understanding of Merchant acquiring and Commercial  Cards
  • Track record of driving superior results by providing strong thought leadership, clear prioritization / pipeline management, sound decision-making and creative problem-solving
  • Ability to create and maintain strong B2B customer relationships
  • Superior understanding of the South East Asian card markets, including their competitive and regulatory environment.
  • High level of B2B selling, influencing and negotiating skills with a proven track record in sales
  • Highly numerate and analytical with a keen understanding of card business financials, experience in merchant pricing is a plus
  • Strong communications and presentation skills
  • Strong project management and execution skills to manage complex projects end to end.
  • Self motivated and strong ability to drive results with a successful track record in matrix management and in managing ambiguity.
