Job Description

Global Records Management (GRM) provides governance and oversight for the Company’s Records Management program as a second line of defense risk management function. We accomplish this by developing, implementing and managing a company-wide comprehensive, integrated and consistent program which ensures proper identification, location, retention, retrieval and disposal of official business records in accordance with policies, procedures, legal, regulatory and audit requirements.
 
This position reports to the GRM Portfolio Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the delivery of GRM projects and initiatives, providing overall program support, and assisting departments in implementing records management controls through the Process Risk Self-Assessment (PRSA) process.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Train and support departments and Operational Excellence implementing records management controls; track progress and provide reporting
  • Develop project plans and ensure alignment with key stakeholders
  • Plan, coordinate and provide status reporting of program level projects from initiation through implementation
  • Work across American Express (AXP) to ensure proper identification, location, retention,  retrieval and disposal of official business records in accordance with policies, procedures, legal, regulatory and audit requirements
  • Analyze program level data in order to identify and drive behavioral changes across American Express through education and awareness, consultations and collaboration on good Record Management practices
  • Provide project and program level support
  • Assist departments in implementing records management controls through the Process Risk Self-Assessment (PRSA) process.

Qualifications

  • Experience in successfully developing, implementing and/or influencing the operational aspects of a global governance program, including reporting
  • Experience in operational risk management or other areas of regulatory focus, audit or compliance
  • Prior project management experience to include identifying and managing risks and dependencies and tracking progress through MS Project
  • Experience with Solution Delivery Lifecycle Methodologies and practices
  • Advanced MS Office Skills
  • Excellent organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple and conflicting priorities
  • Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written); ability to communicate with various levels within and outside the organization
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.
