The IT Service Management (ITSM) team is transforming into an organization that provides data driven intelligence backed by frictionless service management. The Release Product Manager will play a critical role across the team to deliver on the vision and roadmap for the ITSM organization. The Release Product Manager will partner with American Express stakeholders to coordinate timely and quality software releases into production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain Release strategy and related processes
  • Develop common methodologies for Release governance
  • Coordinate releases, track end to end customer impact and validate success of Release
  • Facilitate Release meetings, planning sessions and lessons learned
  • Provide frequent and transparent communications with stakeholders regarding Releases and related activity
  • Participate in CAB meetings to discuss Release scope and/or roadblocks
  • Produce Release notes for Product Owners, customers and other technical teams


  • 5-7 years of experience working with Change, Release and/or Deploy
  • Advanced knowledge of Agile development methodologies
  • Experience with continuous integration processes and tools
  • Work experience with the ServiceNow platform is preferred
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships through various communication channels
  • Strong writing and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive mindset that anticipates roadblocks or opportunities and manages issue escalations
  • Able to articulate complex ideas, problems and designs to varied audience
  • Experience working with Jira/Rally


  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field Computer Science, Business Administration, etc)
  • Background or certification in Service Management frameworks (ITIL, COBIT), preferred 
  • Agile certification, preferred
