Job Description

Regulatory Reporting Delivery (RRD) is a strategic Finance solution for capturing, validating, transforming, and storing Finance and Regulatory information from various sources (sub-ledgers and financial reporting systems) and distributing that information to various processes and systems for regulatory compliance reporting.

The Regulatory Reporting Delivery Service Management (RRDSM) team is responsible for supporting the collection, validation, and transformation of data required for regulatory reporting; maintaining the OFSAA application; and providing end-to-end process coordination and support. This team must have a holistic view of the data sources, processes, and outputs, and the ability to trouble-shoot and resolve problems related to the numerous data sources being interfaced into the FSDF database.

The team also owns the solutioning of Analytical capabilities and visualization for Regulatory Reporting as well as developing the capabilities for Governance processes like Change and Issue management for the wider Finance Regulatory program.

Responsibilities:

This role will be responsible for leading a team (2-3 direct reports and consultants from time to time) responsible for developing the analytical capabilities and delivering visualization experience to multiple Controllership teams involved in Regulatory Reporting. Additionally, this role will manage the development & deployment of Issue and Change Management capabilities for the overall program. This person will play the role of Product Owner for these capabilities and will work closely with different tech teams who are jointly responsible for the solutioning.

This position will report to the Director, Regulatory Reporting Delivery Service Management team, part of the Finance Data Management organization within the Global Controllership Strategy Enablement Group (SEG).

 The responsibilities of this role include:

  • Define Regulatory Analytics vision and roadmap, working closely with regulatory reporting process owners.

  • Create business requirements document for Regulatory Analytics solution, define features and user stories and work closely with technology team to deliver on the requirements

  • Design, build, and deploy the appropriate analytical capabilities to allow stakeholders to validate and attest to their data. This includes building OBI (or using other BI tools like Tableau) dashboards and analytical queries used for attestation, validation, and analysis of the base data as well as the regulatory reports.

  • Design, build, and deploy the appropriate capabilities to manage the Issues and Changes impacting Regulatory Reporting processes.  

  • Lead, support business process transition to operationalize the analytical and governance capabilities developed.

  • Perform all responsibilities related to Product Ownership under the Agile methodology including Rally updates, PI planning, working closely with Scrum teams, performing UAT, etc.

  • Provide Functional and Process Subject Matter Expertise on American Express Finance Systems and Sub Ledgers to support the end to end Regulatory Reporting processes on RRD platform.

Qualifications

  • Experience working as product owner to design, develop a Business Intelligence solution

  • Experience in Financial Analysis and Reporting function

  • Previous experience working closely with Technologies (preferably using Agile methodology) to deploy systems, to re-engineer processes and solve complex business problems.

  • Hands-on experience with reporting tools (OBIEE, BI Publisher or Tableau) is highly desired

  • Hands-on PL/SQL experience is required

  • Transformational approach to Process efficiency and effectiveness.  

  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal, facilitation and presentation writing skills. Must be able to communicate results to stakeholders including non-finance people.  

  • Must be a self-starter with an ability to drive changes.  

  • Prior people leader experience will be helpful to keep cross functional teams engaged and motivated to work together and perform.
