Business Travel Account - Data and Integration Manager

Global Commercial Services (GCS) is the global leader in providing payments solutions for Small, Medium and Large businesses. The Central Travel and Virtual Payments team within GCS Product Management owns a suite of digital products and capabilities that provide our corporate clients with enhanced security and control and streamlined reconciliation for their B2B and T&E payments. Central business travel payments are a crucial part of this suite of products and core to GCS’ value proposition as they allow corporate clients to provide their employees, contractors and visitors a seamless travel and expensing experience.
The GCS Business Travel Account (BTA) Product Development Team is responsible for providing the required speciality knowledge and support to the Product Management, Travel Partnerships and Account Development teams; creating a vision for the platforms and capabilities that underpin our product whilst working alongside the Product Development organisation to deliver best in class solutions. As part of our team, the Senior Manager, Data Integrations and Capabilities will support the Travel Partnership team and Travel Industry Managers, providing technical expertise and ensuring they have access to the tools and information necessary to deliver against their goals to improve the technical/data relationships critical to the success of BTA.
The Senior Manager, Data Integrations and Capabilities plays a key role in the delivery of our roadmap and supporting our business partners and stakeholders as we transform the Business Travel Account (BTA).
This position will act as a key point of contact for stakeholders who are focussed on working with corporate travel industry partners to build data relationships required to deliver on our commitment of a seamless reconciliation experience. This individual will develop the necessary documentation, processes and tools to facilitate a best in class on-boarding and issue management approach. We are looking for a Manager who can work pragmatically within real-world constraints and solve business and process challenges within a cross-functional, collaborative work environment. The position will report to the Director – Product Development BTA.
Establish and maintain a toolkit to support colleagues goaled with building new data relationships
Review existing specifications and technical solutions with a view to developing a set of recommended improvements and opportunities
Provide BTA SME technical support to Travel Industry Managers with regards to inbound data feeds
Partner with operational resources responsible for on boarding of new data relationships ensuring continuous process improvement and transparency of all in-flight projects
Identify opportunities and provide input on vision, strategy, roadmap, and features being developed by BTA Product Development teams.
Collaborate with the product management and development teams to ensure seamless management of issues relating to inbound data streams
Offer of employment with American Express is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background verification check, subject to applicable laws and regulations.
An understanding of data files (structure, transmission technology, specifications and formats) essential. (Specific understanding of BTA specifications, data relationships and data flows beneficial).
Results-oriented with proven track record of successfully leading projects in an environment which requires a high degree of stakeholder coordination and alignment.
Experience working across a number of teams to diagnose issues and identify solutions.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with all levels of an organisation to solve problems.
Comfortable with conflict.
Thrives in an ambiguous and fast-changing environment.
Good understanding of BTA and vBTA platforms, product features and technical processes an advantage.
A knowledge of the business travel industry with an understanding of the travel distribution ecosystem, esp. Travel Management Companies, Global Distribution Systems, Online Booking Platforms an advantage.
The team member will be based in Burgess Hill, West Sussex, UK.
