Do you have a passion for Enterprise level thinking and driving reuse & consistency across the Enterprise? Have you worked with APIs?  We at American Express are seeking a Product Manager II to support the One Data Enterprise API Catalog.

As a Product Analyst for One Data, you will support the One Data Enterprise API Catalog, which allows our Customers to have seamless and easy access to data at the right time.  By working closely with stakeholders in Technology and the lines of business, the ideal candidate will provide guidance on API schema definitions and design patterns, and ensure the Enterprise API Catalog is aligned to the Enterprise Data Management standards.


You’ll be responsible for:

  • Ensuring services integrate into the overall platform in a coherent and performant way, with an eye towards a single platform serving all geographies and channels

  • Partner with engineers and product managers from across the company to drive clarity on their API User Stories and function schemas

  • Work closely with other product and engineering teams to help drive reuse and innovative solutions by:        

    • Rationalization and standardization of Services

    • Drive uniqueness & uniformity

    • Transparency, discoverability, reusability & quality of services


  • BS or higher in computer science, engineering or related field
  • Strong understanding of all aspects of agile product development and delivery

  • A proven track record of success in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple competing and often conflicting priorities

  • Outstanding verbal, written, and presentation skills, as well as the ability to persuade, inspire, and motivate others

  • Passion for great user experience, including the experience of engineers integrating with our API’s

  • Excellent technical acumen, curiosity, and familiarity with new technologies, API’s, programming languages, and databases

  • Must be a self-motivated, goal oriented individual with excellent organizational skills

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with willingness to dive deep and interpret complex data

  • Ability to delve into technical details of product, and strong ability to defend opinions with both business and technical partners within the organization

  • Motivated with ability to prioritize tasks and work in a dynamic environment

  • Ability to handle multiple projects and constituents and prioritize under tight deadlines

  • Must have knowledge of financial domain.
