About the team:


The Network Settlement Solutions (NSS) team is at the core of Global Network Operations (GNO), we are responsible for managing financial settlements and contractual fees, moving funds between American Express and GNS and ATM partners. We are truly global, supporting 280+ partners and making sure $70bn a year is settled accurately and on time.

 

NSS delivers an exceptional settlement experience to our GNS and business partners. We are a highly respected operational team that works closely with multiple business partners in the fast paced world of payments. Job Description:


This Business Analyst role is very exciting, working with Network Partners and numerous internal Amex teams, including Risk Management, Controllership, Global Deal Implementation, Treasury and Partner Business Solutions. The role has key daily operational tasks as well as problem solving and process development. No two days are ever the same and there's always something to keep the successful applicant engaged and wanting to come back the next day!

 

Principal Accountabilities of this role:

  • Management and technical support of a financial settlement exposure tracking tool

  • Completion of daily operational tasks to minimise settlement risk

  • Ensure automated file feeds between exposure tracking tool and bank provider / GNS Platforms operate as expected and take ownership to resolve any issues

  • Identify and evaluate further opportunities to improve processes

  • Support relationships with critical system vendors (Standard Chartered Bank, Trintech, JP Morgan)

  • Responsible for pulling together and tracking performance metrics for Settlement Operations using Excel and Tableau

  • Support GFO to resolve reconciliation queries

  • Using NetworkForce, the case management tool, to analyse trends and eliminate root-causes to drive Partner satisfaction

  • Ensure participation in new deal handovers with Global Deal Implementation team and work closely with the Operational Deployment Manager to ensure new deals are correctly set up

  • Support both internal and external Audit reviews

Qualifications


The successful candidate will be a motivated and experienced B30 with strong leadership behaviours:

  • High degree of analytical thinking and attention to detail

  • Must have an inquisitive mindset and be curious about how things work in order to understand the bigger picture

  • Highly self-motivated and results driven with the ability to work without supervision and demonstrate teamwork as required

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and be able to work to tight deadlines in an ever changing environment

  • Must have a customer mindset and be passionate about customer satisfaction, whether the customer is a Network Partner or an Amex colleague

  • Proven ability in creating and managing reporting and tracking

  • Strong Excel skills, experience of using/creating Macros

  • Experience in creating Tableau dashboards would be an advantage

  • Strong process management knowledge and experience, ideally gained in a financial or operational environment

  • Be able to get up to speed quickly and gain a good understanding of GNO Business Model

  • Excellent relationship management skills

  • Individual must possess strong verbal and written communication skills
