The Global Services Group (GSG) provides American Express’ renowned brand of customer service to consumers, merchants, and corporations. It employs 30,000 employees in 22 markets delivering extraordinary customer care to Card Members and merchants around the world, while providing world-class credit, collections and fraud services, and driving revenue growth for the company. 
This Manager position is a decision support role within the Business CFO group that will be focused on driving business analytics for the Global Customer Engagement (GCE) organization within GSG and supporting the Global Partner Network (GPN) P&L. The Manager will work with GSG business partners as well as teams across the broader Finance organization, with frequent exposure to senior leaders. With a mix of ad hoc analytics projects and P&L management, this role provides comprehensive financial support for GCE.
This role will be based in New York.
Key responsibilities include - but are not limited to:
  • Lead month end close, outlook and annual plan process for Global Partner Network to enable delivery against financial targets
  • Partner with GPN business, business planning, and DSCOE teams to ensure proper planning and forecasting of P&L
  • Perform analytics and analyze key business trends tied to operational metrics, collaborating with business partners on strategic management of OPEX
  • Clearly communicate results to senior leaders across GSG business and finance teams, identify risks & opportunities to target early in the process to achieve optimal allocation of potential investment funding
  • Provide value-added decision support to business partners with a pro-active approach to assessing financial and operational trends and/or project related financials


  •  3-5 years of relevant analytical and finance experience
  • Successful track record working across multiple disciplines including decision support, forecasting, monthly results analysis, and investment analysis
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills with the ability to multitask while meeting tight deadlines
  • Exceptional communication skills – verbal and written
  • Ability to break down complex ideas into understandable and actionable messages
  • Ability to synthesize complex data into coherent presentation for executive audience
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Ability to handle high pressure environment with aggressive deadlines
  • Comfortable with change, ambiguity, and composure under pressure
  • Advanced Excel, PowerPoint a requirement. Experience with TM1, Essbase, SQL, IDN, Cornerstone preferred
  • Bachelor degree required, MBA a plus
