The Global Transformation Engineering Network (GTEN) is part of Global Strategy and Support (GSS) within American Express. GTEN is focused on transformational initiatives that help innovate the business and drive meaningful evolution of its core functionality. The team is currently focused on In House Credit Collections and is actively looking to expand its ranks by bringing on board an additional Analyst to help support the many exciting transformational initiatives both currently in-flight and upcoming.
The Strategic Planning Analyst is a highly analytical and consultative role which provides the opportunity to combine big data analytics with project management. You will work in a highly dynamic and exciting environment and will have the opportunity to help shape strategies for American Express Credit Collections. You will need to have the confidence and curiosity to work with many stakeholders across a deeply matrixed organization and maintain a can-do approach. This role is unique in that we are looking for a candidate that brings a strong analytical mind but also has the attention to detail required to help manage and push projects across the finish line.
Analyze large volumes of data and find patterns and connections within the data to bring key insights to the business.
Support the development, execution, and measurement of new Contact Strategies that blend Digital Self Service with traditional Call and Collect.
Assist with management of projects from concept through production by partnering with the necessary teams to capture all the right inputs and work with those teams to ensure the timeliness of execution.
Perform weekly report generation and identify ways to further automate where possible.
Help with defining the requirements of new Strategic initiatives and support the Agile Product Development Teams as they work to implement your requirements.
Synthesize analytical findings and distill them down to contribute in the creation of concise, understandable, and impactful Power Point slides that will be shared with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
Build and maintain a strong network with key partners in the greater GTEN org, Operations, MIS, and Risk.
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, etc.
Able to handle large datasets using SQL, SAS, R, Python or another similar programming language.
Ability to think strategically and apply both quantitative methods and business insights to drive results.
Blend of analytical skills, process expertise, project management, and relationship building skills.
Prior experience in financial industry or call centers a plus.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Continually cultivate curiosity and an eagerness to learn while supporting ambiguous / open ended analytical challenges.
Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.
