This position will report to the Vice President of Global Merchant Services Technology (GMST) and will be focused on running programs, leading a small team, and Manager Assistant functions. The Global Merchant Services Technology team is a $65mm portfolio comprised of 220+ global colleagues and 350+ vendor partners driving application development for Global Merchant Services.
You will enjoy working with globally dispersed teams to drive many ad-hoc activities. You will benefit from exposure to the leadership styles of many VP’s and Directors. This Program Manager role will be provided a diverse range of activities from leading strategic initiatives, handling executive updates, Performance Management Planning and Talent Assessment processes, and planning leadership meetings. The role offers challenging and creative experiences while allowing the candidate to demonstrate their existing project and program management skillset.
  • Planning, directing and coordinating strategic programs for the GMST team
  • Plan and coordinate GMST leadership meetings, activities and agendas

  • Lead cross-functional program teams to define, prioritize and achieve strategic objectives as outlined by the VP of the organization.

  • Partner and handle relationships with internal business clients and IT leadership to define and prioritize short and long-term objectives

  • Creation of key documentation and internal processes

  • Communicate with VP’s, Directors and staff with regards to program strategy and changes.

  • Craft Town Hall presentations, Business Partner Updates and Leadership Briefings using PowerPoint to report team accomplishments

  • Drive resource and financial forecasts and actuals through advanced Excel spreadsheets and tracking tools.

  • Works closely with Director and Manager assistants across the Technology Organization.














    Qualifications

        • Requires professional written, verbal and interpersonal skills with high attention to detail.

        • The ideal candidate will have expert knowledge in PowerPoint, Excel and experience in writing succinct technical memos at the executive level

        • Able to translate data / insights into compelling presentations.

        • Possess ability to lead, follow and partner with peers in an enterprise level organization.

        • Process oriented, able to create process flows and align them across impacted stakeholders

        • Teammate with the ability to work autonomously and ability to influence without authority.

        • Flexible, adaptable while being able to deliver in pressure situations.

        • Relationship management and collaboration experience with development teams and business partners.

        • Experience with video and animation presentation tool is a plus

        • Knowledge and understanding of the American Express organization and systems is an advantage

        • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Information Systems is a plus.
