The GCS Brand Strategy team is part of the Marketing Strategy & Communications Planning Team within Global Commercial Services (GCS).  GCS is the division of American Express exclusively dedicated to serving businesses of all sizes. 

The Global Brand Strategy Team is a fast-paced, entrepreneurial team responsible for innovating and developing winning strategies that help build the GCS Brand.  We also serve as a Global Center of Excellence for marketers and agencies, working across the business to ensure a consistent, on-brand, customer-first experience.

This high-profile role is for someone looking to gain exposure to senior leadership and will be reporting into a Director. Responsibilities include:

1) Lead the development of various strategies to deliver the next generation of American Express’ B2B Brand:   Provide strategic thought leadership to enhance customer experiences with the Brand from point of consideration to point of multi-product relationships


Partner with the Communications Planning & Content teams to bring strategies to life for marketers, product owners and the Field:  Help develop the Brand guidance and inspiration needed for colleagues so they can best embed GCS strategy across marketing & communication channels

Partner with GABM to align GCS strategies with overall Blue Box initiatives:  Ensure GCS strategy is connected to larger organizational Brand strategy and that the needs of our business and customers are at the forefront


  • Well-rounded marketer with 5+ years of experience in brand strategy / agency relations and strategic positioning. 
  • Exceptional communication, storytelling skills and strong executive presence
  • Fresh & innovative thinking and ability to think of new ways to message value to our customers
  • Demonstrated ability to ask the tough questions, challenge the status quo
  • Exceptional relationship management skills and demonstrated ability to influence and mobilize cross-functional teams
  • Ability to drive clarity and results in “white space” environments
  • Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to efficiently and effectively manage and track multiple high priority initiatives simultaneously
  • B2B financial services marketing and/or product experience require
